Senior
So, I feel like I need to start this post off by saying that seniors now are officially WAY cooler than I was at that age! I kind of want to share my own senior photo just to prove how true that statement really is…BUT…I’d embarrass myself, so instead…
Meet Leah! 🙂
She was just the sweetest and absolutely awesome to work with! She was such a natural in front of the camera and seriously made my job a total breeze!
We spent the evening at the beach, and let me just tell you, the tide was HIGH. Like, crazy high! There actually wasn’t a lot of beach left when we started shooting, but Leah was such a trooper and had a blast splashing in the waves and playing in the water!
While scheduling this senior session a few weeks ago, Nicholas and his parents decided that the best location for this session would be at the high school that he had just graduated from days before. When I met them on campus, Nicholas shared multiple stories about his past 4 years at that school. He told me about his friends…the performing arts program that he was heavily involved in…the buildings…his locker…even the outdoor spaces where he had spent so much time during his high school days. I could tell that he had really loved his time there and that he was going to miss it.
Honestly, it was refreshing.
In a place where we’re constantly striving for the next thing, looking forward and moving on as quickly as we can, it was nice to hear a high school student reflecting on his experiences and how he was different because of them. Don’t get me wrong, Nicholas was so excited about the days ahead and leaving for college in the fall, but I could tell that he was sentimental about his school and the growth he had experienced there. It truly was the perfect location for his senior session, and each photo we took felt like a part of his story.
Senior sessions are SO much fun! I love getting to chat with high school students about their future plans and watching their faces light up as they dream about the days ahead!
Holli was definitely excited about her future possibilities! She was deciding between two schools (both of which are outstanding options) and after talking with her during our session, I have no doubt that she’s going to do big things in this world!
Congratulations on your upcoming graduation, Holli! Wishing you all the best!
Abigail is currently a senior in high school and is in the process of selecting a university to attend next year. As we chatted during her photo session, she listed the handful of schools that she would be visiting soon and how excited she was to learn about each of their engineering programs. I could definitely tell that she was determined and excited about the future and where she would end up. Her mom joined us for the photo session and continued to talk about how surreal it all seemed- that her daughter would be heading off into the “real world” soon and that she had to remind herself to continue to breathe…that the whole thing just keeps taking her breath away. I can’t even imagine how her momma heart must feel. Torn between pride and excitement for her little girl…who of course is not so little anymore…to anxiety and sadness that her daughter won’t be living under the same roof for much longer. It’s such an interesting/scary/awesome time for a family and I’m thankful that I got to capture this season of life for them to remember!
Wishing you all the best, Abigail!
Meet Linnea! She is a senior this year and heading off to Indiana for school in the fall! We had so much fun shooting this session at both a local park and her family’s beautiful lake house! Thanks for contacting me to take your senior photos, Linnea! I’m excited to see what God has planned for your future!
Brittany graduates from high school this year and is going to college in Michigan in the fall. She wanted to give her mom a gift before she left for school and asked if I would be willing to take her senior photos as a surprise! (So thoughtful, right?!) Brittany radiates joy and made this session SO much fun!
Meet Kristina! She graduated this year and is heading off to college in Michigan this fall. She was so natural in front of the camera- not to mention her GORGEOUS blue eyes that just pop in every photo!Â
So excited for your future, Kristina! You’re going to do awesome things!
