Long Family

I was so excited when Brittany contacted me and asked if we could shoot their family session at Baker Beach! She explained that their family was moving to Colorado and that she really wanted to document this season of their life at an iconic San Francisco landmark before they moved. I was 100% on board and also 100% honest with her that the weather in the city is crazy and unpredictable. I obviously couldn’t guarantee that we’d get the Golden Gate Bridge in the background (I mean, the fog that rolls in over there is just mind boggling sometimes!!) but I told her that I would do my very best to make her vision come to life on camera.

You guys…it rained on my drive up there. RAINED.

I was doubtful, but as I approached the beach, the rain stopped. Yes, it was still cloudy…yes, there was a lot of fog…and yes, it was cold. But despite those things, the session was a blast and the Long family was just amazing to work with! Their daughter was beyond adorable, and handled the elements like a champ (and watching her run around in the sand was the best)! I’m so glad it worked out and I’m so glad that we were able to capture these sweet memories for their family!

Thanks, Long Family for asking me to capture your story! I hope your move goes as smoothly as possible and that these photos bring back precious memories from your time out here on the west coast!

Family Newborn

Dupuy Family {newborn session}

The light in this little California bungalow was just too much for my heart to handle. And this sweet family?! They were ADORABLE! They had welcomed their son 8 weeks earlier and he was just a dream to photograph! He was wide-eyed for a while, giving us lots of fun expressions and then he fell right to sleep so that we could catch some sleepy shots as well.

Dupuy family- thanks for letting me step into your space to document these early days at home with your son. It was lovely meeting you and I’m wishing you all the best as you adjust to life as a family of 3!

Scruggs Newborn Session

I absolutely love getting to spend time with a family both before and after baby makes his/her arrival. Getting to document the waiting and expectation during pregnancy, along with the pure joy and exhaustion of those early days home with a newborn…it’s one of the best parts of my job!

This sweet family allowed me to photograph their maternity session a couple months ago, as well as their newborn session once their daughter was born. It was the sweetest thing to watch this couple during both of those seasons, and I’m honored to capture these memories for them! Their daughter is BEAUTIFUL and the morning light in their house is just…(insert all the heart eyes)!!

Thanks, Scruggs Family, for welcoming me into your home to document these precious moments! Praying for you guys as you adjust to life as a family of 3!

Murphy Family {newborn}

This adorable family welcomed their second son just 2 weeks before I captured these photos and man- they just seemed so relaxed and at ease the entire time I was there. They seriously made adjusting to a family of four look like a piece of cake! Both of their sons were ADORABLE and the sunlight flowing through their windows was gorgeous! It made for a fantastic morning!

Murphy family- thank you for letting me step into your world for a bit! It was a pleasure meeting you all and I loved getting to document this sweet time for your family!

Family Maternity

Scruggs Family {maternity}

This sweet couple is expecting their precious daughter any day now, and I was honored to take a few maternity photos for them while they’re awaiting her arrival.

And ohhhh can we talk about that waiting game for a minute? I feel like I was JUST there…waiting for my son to make his entrance into the world. It’s a strange time, isn’t it? You feel SO ready…and so NOT ready all at the same time. You’re uncomfortable and exhausted and so excited to meet your sweet baby, all while thinking “Seriously?! I’m responsible for keeping this tiny human alive and there’s no user manual or handbook?! WHAT. IN. THE. WORLD?!” Haha 😉 There’s this tension and realization that your life is about to change drastically…it’s both terrifying and thrilling all in one!

I think that’s one of my favorite things about capturing maternity photos on camera. You see, I LOVE when photos tell a story and I think that this season of waiting and expectation is so fun to document for that very reason.

Scotty & Nina- thank you for allowing me to step into your home to document this sweet season for you guys! You were both glowing throughout our entire session and I could sense the excitement and joy surrounding the birth of your precious daughter. I can’t wait to meet her, and I’m praying for your family in the days ahead!

Lifestyle Session {newborn}

There’s just something so special about capturing newborn sessions in the comfort of my clients’ own homes. There are natural moments throughout these sessions, that exude the sweetness of that new season and really display the family’s current reality. After all, those everyday things…the footy pj’s, the tiny arms escaping the swaddle, the head of hair, tiny hands, smiles, and tears…are the things we want to remember.

This precious family decided to keep things simple and real during their session. I absolutely LOVED their decision! 🙂

Family Newborn

Stubbs Family {newborn}

I got to meet this precious family a few weeks ago and after chatting with them for a bit, I was reminded of just how small the world actually is.

I knew that April had grown up in Oklahoma from an email she had sent me when we were scheduling their session, but I had no idea how many mutual friends and acquaintances we would have. She and her husband were actually married in the church that we worked for in Tulsa before moving to California! I mean…WHAT IN THE WORLD?! So crazy that our paths crossed in the Bay Area during a newborn session!

Anyway, this sweet mom and dad have two adorable kiddos and I loved getting to spend the morning documenting their growing family. There really is something so special about capturing those early days at home with a new baby. Thanks for letting me step into your world for a bit, Stubbs Family! You guys are awesome!

Barshow Family {newborn}

You guys….it feels SO good to be back behind the camera after taking a few months off for maternity leave! I’ve been pretty busy, as our family has grown from 3 to 4, and my husband and I are trying to figure out this whole “parenting two kids” thing! 😉 I’m telling you…it’s the best and hardest thing we’ve ever done! We welcomed our son in November and I started back with the photography gig in February. If I’m honest, I’m still figuring out how to work from home with a toddler and a baby, but it’s been an awesome month so far and I’m grateful to get my business rolling again.

I’m also SUPER excited to share my first newborn session back with you! Meet the Barshow family. They were fantastic to work with and their son was absolutely precious! This sweet mom and dad were so cool and calm the entire time and their home felt so peaceful and warm. I loved getting to walk into their world for a bit and document a season that is filled with so much joy, uncertainty, exhaustion, and life!

Thanks Barshows for allowing me to capture this new season for your family! Praying for both wisdom and grace as you walk through the days ahead with that sweet boy of yours!

Bartlow Family

Meet the Bartlow Family!

They are some of our dearest friends and have walked alongside of us through cross country moves, job changes, babies and so much more! They even braved the frigid, Chicago winters with us while we all lived and worked there for years…and I’m telling you, those temperatures and all that snow can make a person go crazy- we were lucky to have great friends there to keep us sane!!

They now live in Oklahoma City and have two adorable little girls! I was thrilled to be able to capture their current season of life for them while I was back visiting in July.

Fleck Family

While visiting my family and friends in Oklahoma a few weeks ago, I got to shoot a lifestyle session for my sister and her family. Yes, I’m biased…but this session is my favorite to date. I mean my sister, brother-in-law, niece and nephew are absolutely adorable and the light in their house….I can’t even!!! Plus it was so fun for me to spend a morning capturing some of my favorite people on camera! 🙂
