Newborn Session

Ohhh those early newborn days at home…

They are sweet and chaotic, peaceful and exhausting. They’re full of beautiful moments, sleep deprivation and small details that are so easily forgotten.

I loved that this family wanted to document their story in the comfort of their own home. It was an honor to step into their space for a bit and capture those little details for their family.

Barrett Family

How beautiful is this family?!

Their daughter just turned one and I loved getting to snap a few photos for them to celebrate this milestone!

Stephan Family

Meet the Stephan Family!

They are dear friends of ours and are expecting a sweet, baby boy this fall! Their daughter, who is ADORABLE, made our session so fun and kept us moving…like most toddlers do 😉

My favorite part of their family session was when sweet M found a giant stick that was almost as big as her. You better believe that stick made it in numerous shots that morning!! haha!

Thanks Stephans, for asking me to capture your story. I can’t wait to meet your precious son this fall!

Long Family

I was so excited when Brittany contacted me and asked if we could shoot their family session at Baker Beach! She explained that their family was moving to Colorado and that she really wanted to document this season of their life at an iconic San Francisco landmark before they moved. I was 100% on board and also 100% honest with her that the weather in the city is crazy and unpredictable. I obviously couldn’t guarantee that we’d get the Golden Gate Bridge in the background (I mean, the fog that rolls in over there is just mind boggling sometimes!!) but I told her that I would do my very best to make her vision come to life on camera.

You guys…it rained on my drive up there. RAINED.

I was doubtful, but as I approached the beach, the rain stopped. Yes, it was still cloudy…yes, there was a lot of fog…and yes, it was cold. But despite those things, the session was a blast and the Long family was just amazing to work with! Their daughter was beyond adorable, and handled the elements like a champ (and watching her run around in the sand was the best)! I’m so glad it worked out and I’m so glad that we were able to capture these sweet memories for their family!

Thanks, Long Family for asking me to capture your story! I hope your move goes as smoothly as possible and that these photos bring back precious memories from your time out here on the west coast!

Dupuy Family {newborn session}

The light in this little California bungalow was just too much for my heart to handle. And this sweet family?! They were ADORABLE! They had welcomed their son 8 weeks earlier and he was just a dream to photograph! He was wide-eyed for a while, giving us lots of fun expressions and then he fell right to sleep so that we could catch some sleepy shots as well.

Dupuy family- thanks for letting me step into your space to document these early days at home with your son. It was lovely meeting you and I’m wishing you all the best as you adjust to life as a family of 3!

Senior

Nicholas {senior session}

While scheduling this senior session a few weeks ago, Nicholas and his parents decided that the best location for this session would be at the high school that he had just graduated from days before. When I met them on campus, Nicholas shared multiple stories about his past 4 years at that school. He told me about his friends…the performing arts program that he was heavily involved in…the buildings…his locker…even the outdoor spaces where he had spent so much time during his high school days. I could tell that he had really loved his time there and that he was going to miss it.

Honestly, it was refreshing.

In a place where we’re constantly striving for the next thing, looking forward and moving on as quickly as we can, it was nice to hear a high school student reflecting on his experiences and how he was different because of them. Don’t get me wrong, Nicholas was so excited about the days ahead and leaving for college in the fall, but I could tell that he was sentimental about his school and the growth he had experienced there. It truly was the perfect location for his senior session, and each photo we took felt like a part of his story.

Holli {senior session}

Senior sessions are SO much fun! I love getting to chat with high school students about their future plans and watching their faces light up as they dream about the days ahead!

Holli was definitely excited about her future possibilities! She was deciding between two schools (both of which are outstanding options) and after talking with her during our session, I have no doubt that she’s going to do big things in this world!

Congratulations on your upcoming graduation, Holli! Wishing you all the best!

Scruggs Newborn Session

I absolutely love getting to spend time with a family both before and after baby makes his/her arrival. Getting to document the waiting and expectation during pregnancy, along with the pure joy and exhaustion of those early days home with a newborn…it’s one of the best parts of my job!

This sweet family allowed me to photograph their maternity session a couple months ago, as well as their newborn session once their daughter was born. It was the sweetest thing to watch this couple during both of those seasons, and I’m honored to capture these memories for them! Their daughter is BEAUTIFUL and the morning light in their house is just…(insert all the heart eyes)!!

Thanks, Scruggs Family, for welcoming me into your home to document these precious moments! Praying for you guys as you adjust to life as a family of 3!

Murphy Family {newborn}

This adorable family welcomed their second son just 2 weeks before I captured these photos and man- they just seemed so relaxed and at ease the entire time I was there. They seriously made adjusting to a family of four look like a piece of cake! Both of their sons were ADORABLE and the sunlight flowing through their windows was gorgeous! It made for a fantastic morning!

Murphy family- thank you for letting me step into your world for a bit! It was a pleasure meeting you all and I loved getting to document this sweet time for your family!

Family Maternity

Scruggs Family {maternity}

This sweet couple is expecting their precious daughter any day now, and I was honored to take a few maternity photos for them while they’re awaiting her arrival.

And ohhhh can we talk about that waiting game for a minute? I feel like I was JUST there…waiting for my son to make his entrance into the world. It’s a strange time, isn’t it? You feel SO ready…and so NOT ready all at the same time. You’re uncomfortable and exhausted and so excited to meet your sweet baby, all while thinking “Seriously?! I’m responsible for keeping this tiny human alive and there’s no user manual or handbook?! WHAT. IN. THE. WORLD?!” Haha 😉 There’s this tension and realization that your life is about to change drastically…it’s both terrifying and thrilling all in one!

I think that’s one of my favorite things about capturing maternity photos on camera. You see, I LOVE when photos tell a story and I think that this season of waiting and expectation is so fun to document for that very reason.

Scotty & Nina- thank you for allowing me to step into your home to document this sweet season for you guys! You were both glowing throughout our entire session and I could sense the excitement and joy surrounding the birth of your precious daughter. I can’t wait to meet her, and I’m praying for your family in the days ahead!
